There’s this amazing website out there called SocialVibe.com where you can sign up, choose a sponsor, and in turn they help you raise money for a cause.
One of the causes I have started to feel a needed voice for is The Whaleman Foundation. The Whaleman Foundation is an oceanic research, conservation and production organization dedicated to preserving and protecting dolphins, whales, and their ocean habitat.
Here is The Whaleman Foundation’s MISSION STATEMENT:
“To forever preserve and protect cetaceans (dolphins, whales, and porpoises) and their critical habitats.
To perform long-term field research of cetaceans and their interrelationships with mankind in order to better understand the context of their lives for the betterment of all.
To raise awareness to the issues that not only affect cetaceans, but all marine life, and the overall health of our oceans.
To encourage individuals to explore there uniqueness, to share there talents, and to fulfill their dreams and desires.
To share what we observe, learn, and value with the world.”
This cause was brought to my attention by a MySpace bulletin put out by Hayden Panettiere. I know “Save the Whales!” seems pretty cliche, but with the way the world is turning I would hate to see these magnificent creatures be something of the past. So many species are already extinct, I’d hate for these amazing creatures to also disappear from our planet all together.
It’s really simple to help out. All you need to do is watch the below video message from Hayden Panettiere:
On Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting the majority of the band at Kent’s birthday celebration. Tonight Dave and I are going to Plaza to see the boys play.
At Kent’s birthday we got to hear some songs the boys laid down in L.A. and I am SUPER excited to see Like A Storm play.
Will fill you all in tomorrow about how the show went and hopefully post some pictures as well.
I miss my friend. I miss him all the time. I miss being on his couch near that big window that lets in the light but also the heat. I one time just sat there all afternoon and finished Catcher In The Rye in one sitting, while he on the other end created something out of nothing. My friend creates music. What I would give to sit on that couch again.
I want to cry. I don’t know what happened that made things entirely different. Okay, that’s a lie; I know what happened. I found someone who loved me. My heart is so sad because I feel like I’ve lost someone so incredibly special.
Do you ever do something that you know will bring you down? I listen to his music to take me back, knowing that it’ll pain my heart and cause a giant lump to form in my throat. Sometimes it brings me down, but not every time. Sometimes it makes me smile and I can’t help but appreciate how amazing this person is. I believe there are very few people in the world that will actually ever understand him. Very few people who could “handle” him; I wish I could find him love. He deserves it. But it’s hard to find someone like me – who would suit him so well. There are others who love him. But they just wouldn’t work.
My friend is amazing. He is so incredibly smart. I love his wit. This person is so amazing. At the same time I think he is blinded to some of his greatest attributes. I don’t think he realizes how deserving of happiness he is. My friend is mentally ill, but I find that to be part of his charm.
I miss you. I miss what we had. And I’m wondering if it’s too late to get any of that back?
I love love LOVE this music video. I love the styling in this music video and I’m going to post up a couple of my favorite things from it. I just love this song and all the styling. Some people say she’s ripping off the late Aaliyah’s styling. I loved Aaliyah, but common. Is it wrong now for people with black hair to part their hair to the side, be slender, like to dance and sing just because Aaliyah had her hair parted to the side, was slim and danced and sang?
My first favorite item from the music video are the gold twisted hoop initial earrings. It’s just too bad they are $500.

Soul Jewelry
Soul Jewelry has a ton of wicked jewelry. Another item in the music video is your personalized name two-fingered ring. They have it available in silver ($99) and also gold ($199).
The second thing I fell in love with were her Marc Jacobs 198 sunglasses. I found them online for $500 but they regularly are up aroung $750-800!!!
I also like the pink Vivienne Westwood dress at the beginning and end. She styled it up and bit with a pair of black short tights underneath, riding the dress up a bit provocatively… I’ve always loved Vivienne Westwood’s style. She’s the one who basically brought the punk look to the streets.

The Givenchy gladiator boots are pretty killer also. I just love everything about this video.

Anyone feel like giving me a couple thousand dollars? LOL!
I had decided that October 1st was going to be the beginning of me getting healthy. I was going to enroll in the 30 day challenge at the local Bikram Yoga but turns out I have to be in Calgary from the 5th to the 11th. So there goes a week out the window. My original plan of taking the 6 a.m. class on Wednesday October 1st was out the window. They do have a different great offer though. If you’re new it’s only $20 dollars for a week of unlimited yoga. I told Dave maybe I’d just do that instead, him and Amanda both (who were with me on my last night of non-health so beer and shoestring fries it were in front of me) agreed it’d be wiser to just wait until I got back from Calgary and did the full weeks worth when I got back. I set my alarm for 6 a.m. anyways, convinced I’d wake up and exercise; I ended up hitting snooze until 7:55 a.m. instead. Just enough time to roll out of bed and go downstairs to my work area.
WELL, I am proud to say that I am on day three of my 14 days hard-core plan (The Ultimate New York Body Plan) and I am feeling GREAT! I’ve been doing 45 minutes of cardio every day. Plus the extra required strength training. Today I actually woke up early and hit the tredmill in our exercise room for 45 minutes (if you ever find yourself wondering when Much Music actually plays music videos, it’s bright and early at 6 a.m.).
To spice things up a bit this morning my regular chocolate whey protein shake (simply water and powder) was thrown into the blender with some ice cubes and a dash of fresh brewed coffee that my dad was making. I poured myself a glass and drank, there was leftover so I poured some more only to realize it was mostly foam. The clock was nearing 8 a.m. so I grabbed the glass and came downstairs. The foam is beginning to disappear but this concoction is taking longer to “sit” than a glass of Guiness. Mmmm Guiness…
So as I mentioned, I’m on Day 3, and just thought I’d share with you that I am down 4 lbs and have lost 3.75 inches from all over my body (1 in the thigh, .5 in the hips, 1.5 in the waist, .5 in the chest and .25 in the arms).
OH, and quick side-note on the “Sober October”. My friend Mary Anne invited me to come out with her on Saturday night. They were going to start at one of her neighbors in her building and then head who-knows-where downtown. I told her I would try if I made it back from shopping on time (Amanda and I are going to the Seattle Outlets and I’m getting my rubber boots from Nordstroms). I also told her I wouldn’t be drinking because I was being healthy and it’s part of my hard-core two week program (no alcohol, no bread, no starchy carbs, no dairy, no extra sweets and no fruit - sounds lame but the food I’m eating is AMAZING). She told me, “That’s alright, I’m having a sober October myself.” (needed after a beer-goggle incident that resulted in a stalker-ish boy). I like the term. So did Dave, so he’s going for a “Sober October” also.
Well, my protein shake is finally ready for drinking. And I’m super pumped about all this health. I’m not going to post any “before” pictures but I will take some after shots! I may be doing a photo shoot with a Vancouver photographer on November 6th, so that is inspiration to keep me going!
